I am Haneen Qattawi, from Palestine, in Al-Zahra’a City in Gaza. I am writing this in the hope of saving my family from the unimaginable atrocities that have been taking place in Gaza since October 2023. About Haneen and her Family:
I was studying Master degree in Business Administration “first year”, also I am an English alumnus of English Literature until the war began. (Please see photos from graduation.)
As I write to you, I found my family and I were displaced more than 8 times in an attempt to reach to a safe place. I am asking for your help with funding to help me and my family. We have been through difficult circumstances and unimaginable hardship since the beginning of the Israeli aggression against us. As the situation worsens and our lives are threatened daily. We are in dire need of your help daily. This is an urgent appeal to your humanity.
The Israeli occupation demolished my family’s flat (see photos from before the war, and then rubble), and I don’t know if it is possible for me to think about my ambitious and goals which I love. The war made my dreams vanish. Honestly, I no longer care about my goal because everyone in my family thinks about safety and getting rid of this crazy war, and how to get out of this miserable life.
Everything changed at the beginning of war in October 2023. Two weeks after the war, we were forced to leave Al-Zahra’a City after was destroyed completely. We were forced to escape the random and intermittent missiles. We left just with our clothes which we were wearing only.
The last days were full of death, fear and displacement, a nightmare that destroyed our hope, memories and homes. We did not expect to reach this difficult moment.
We love our country and love our lives, but the forms of life have disappeared.
My family consists of 8:
My wonderful family and my mother who does not hesitate to support us psychologically and was by my side when I need her, she always creates strength from weakness, cooks for us from the rare foods available, and always brings us together even in the most difficult times, in addition to my father.
Everyday and every moment we wish for the war, genocide, operations and violence to end, but fear is still dominates the situation and is beyond our control, and it is even increasing. Worse than that, so I will do anything just to get out of here and protect my family, but we cannot do that and leave. We have nothing now.
I am raising money for my family for a number of reasons:
